Program

 

The Children's Academy on the Halifax is committed to providing a safe and loving environment for children six weeks through four years of age. Our curriculum ensures that we are developing the whole child- academically, socially and emotionally. We will provide many enrichment activities such as music, library, art and movement. These activities will be designed to enhance our curriculum and will be developmentally appropriate for each child's individual needs.

Curriculum

Our curriculum ensures that we are developing the whole child. We are dedicated to each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth. We will provide many enrichment activities such as music, library time, art, and movement. Children often do their best learning through hands on experiences and structured play. We use a combination of teacher directed as well as child directed learning to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all children. We are committed to creating a lifelong love for learning by stimulating a child’s academic, social, and physical development. 

 

Our infant program provides individualized activities for each child using Frogstreet Curriculum as a guide. This program is designed to build strong foundations and focuses on each child’s cognitive, physical, language, and social/emotional development.

 

Our toddler program is comprised of 13 themed units designed to focus on the five developmental domains: cognitive, physical, language, and social/emotional development. The toddler programs use Frogstreet curriculum as a guide for instruction. Each day the teachers lead children in activities in each domain and teaches social skills and self-regulation.

Our three to four year old program uses the Frogstreet curriculum to guide the children’s developing independence. Aligned to the Florida Early Learning Standards, this program engages children in literacy, mathematics and STEAM building activities each week.

 

Our VPK four year old program follows the Early Learning Standards for four year olds using DLM Early Learning Express as a guide for their daily activities. The VPK four year old program provides a combination of teacher directed and child directed experiences and includes instruction in mathematics, language and literacy, science, social studies, and social development.
